On thursday 18 January one of the strongest storms since years rushed through the Netherlands. Many people enjoyed the spectacle, especially the view of open waters like the IJ in Amsterdam. All the ferries in Amsterdam continued without failure.

Other people had little chance to enjoy this weather, trains stopped and left them stranded in a crowded train station. People were advised to avoid the road and many public busses stayed in.
