Television is a 12 hour long live television program cablecasted from the studios at the picturesque Rembrantplein from 22.00 every Third Sarturday of the month, until 10.00. a.m. the following morning since 1992. Television is an open platform to discuss: politics, science, finances, media, art, culture, current affairs, telecommunications, live styles, etc. on a local, national and international level. Artists, musicians, journalists, politicians, captains of industry and citizens in general drop in the studio for a cool glass ofbeer and lively debate or to cooperate in the production of the program. Visitors are encouraged to actively participate by doing camera work, vision mixing, subtitling and all of the other tasks envolved in the program.

Television began in 1992 as a special interest, (interdisciplinary) artists initiative but throughout the years it has evolved into a general interest program that is often described as one of the best examples of citizen television in De Hoeksteen LiveEurope, catering for all different corners of the population. In each of the programs anchors deal with about 200 De Hoeksteen Livephone ins and the same amount of De Hoeksteen Livefaxes and bbs messages. The program is entirely produced with consumer equipment:De Hoeksteen Live Camcorders, De Hoeksteen LiveAmiga and De Hoeksteen Live Apple computers, De Hoeksteen Livepicture phones, etc. Interactive De Hoeksteen Livecommunications has become one of the regular and most interesting features of the show, De Hoeksteen LiveCu-SeeMe and Video conferencing have become an integral part of the De Hoeksteen Live live television programming. It is the best way to assure participation on a De Hoeksteen Live national and De Hoeksteen Liveinternational level at the lowest possible De Hoeksteen Livecost.

Teletext De Hoeksteen Live

Teletext De Hoeksteen Live is a weekly publication via Item, the local teletext De Hoeksteen Live system in Amsterdam. Teletext De Hoeksteen Live publishes articles, essays and information related to television programs, as well as: the activities carried out via Net. It also features: poetry, theatre plays, lyrics, cooking recepies, wine, the best places in town and in other capitals of the world, etc. Teletext De Hoeksteen Live also includes simple graphics and animations (very simple animations, but fantastic never the less!), short statements, punch lines, wise cracks and the like. Live television incorporates teletext De Hoeksteen Live in their package. Those at home with a teletext De Hoeksteen Live feature in their TV set can enjoy contributions, very short contributions, by writers, poets and the like that are displayed on the upper part of the screen never longer than two lines. This was actually inspired in the way that telecasters translate their programming mostly from English into Dutch and German. Some think that it is a shame that De Hoeksteen Live is local; so what? after all, all radio and television are local too. Some others think that teletext is clumsy and archaic; so what!? it delivers the message !! Teletext reigns!!! Entries can be submitted to: Teletext c/o Salto.
