BATTLE WOUNDING CRITERIA MADE EASY
"Lethality"
"A fragmentation device should ideally produce as many lethal fragments as
possible to make the target incapable as early as possible. A device which
meets this requirement is said to have good 'lethalithy'.The most severe
criterion requires the incapacitation, within 30 seconds of the strike, of
a determined well protected target occupying a good defensive position.
Another criterion is the 'Assault 5 Minutes Criterion'. This requires the
incapacitation of a highly motivated assaulting infantryman in five minutes."
