STRIKE ON IRAQ


-THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
Saturday, President Bill Clinton ordered the 23.000 American troops in the Persian
Gulf to be in a state of alert. The Americans have 200 fighter planes in the area, and
during the weekend, equipment & support personel were been moved closer to the theater of
operations.

The U.S. reacted skepticaly to reports of Iraqi troops withdrawal on Monday and
continued to deploy ships and airplanes in the gulf.

Sunday night the Pentagon ordered 34 extra planes and 1000 troops to be moved into
the area.

Ships and aircraft departed from th U.S. Airforce base in Lagley Virginia,
Seymour Johnson in North Carolina and Shaw in South Carolina direction Guam in the
Pacific.
