MILITARY VEHICLES ON THE MARKET
A selection of what is available in the military vehicles market today.
M1 ABRAMS
The first version of this American tank goes back to 1980.
It is suspected to be the cause for the so called Gulf Syndrome that affected so
many American servicemen and women; the reason why was the use of uranium for
the finishing of the vehicules body and the grenades in the tank.
Used by the U.S.A., Egyptian and Saudi Armies. It can be fitted with a 105 or 120
millimeter canon.
Maximim Speed 100 Km/h.
APC
Armoured Personnel Carriers
Used to move personnel into the battle field. Most APC are fitted with .50 mm
canons.
Normaly they drive at about the same speed as
a tank.
BMP/BTR
Russian Personnel Armoured Carrier.
One of the most popular pieces of hardware in the news footage from the Chechnian
war. The BMP is half track. The BTR combines half tracks with normal tires (mostly

HUMMER
American Jeep.
It is called Hummer because of the little noice it makes. Broad and low to avoid
anti-tank weapons.
The Classic Jeep: WWII, Korea & Vietnam.
LEOPARD II
German made tank, the follower of the Leopard I. Maximum speed 80 Km/h.
T-80
Heavy Russian Tank.
As succesful as the MIG Fighter and the Kalashnikof, one of the prides of the Russian
Military Industry. The first models date back to WWII. Russians tanks are always
known because of being so low. One of the previous T-72 was the the Iraqi tank
during the Gulf War but they were no match for their American counter parts. The
T-80 is fitted with 120 or 125 mm canon. Their reach is between to 3 and 4
kilometers.
YPR-765
Partly manufactured by the Dutch and very much used by the Royal Dutch Infantry and
other armies since the 70s. The YPR is an anphibious vehicle. Very much in use in
Bosnia
