Since 1982, N D has served as a document for exchange and contact among an international community of artists working to overcome established aesthetic conventions. We publish interviews and articles that reflect current action in new and 'trans-' media. A little about this web site: It is broken down into three main categories (Contact, Exchange, Document). + - Contact: Here you will find links to other artist groups, organizations and the like. Look for more links to be continually added. x - Exchange: Here will be the space for news of events, 33 Degrees (the shop we help run in Austin) and on-going projects that we know of. o - Document: This has the catalog for N D, subscription information, the recordings we produce and items we help distribute. This web site will act as a kind of archive of N D and also hopefully a useful tool. The magazine will of course continue as a document and resource. Once N D 20 is finally printed and out (yes, we know - it has taken longer than forever!) we can put some time into fully flushing out this site. Enjoy! There are also a lot of changes about here with N D, which will become evident with N D 21, but for now let's wait until it actually gets off the press. In our magazine we have presented interviews with artists: AMM, Ellen Fullman, Christoph Heemann, Aube, Gunter Brus, Paul McCarthy, John Duncan, Andre Stitt, Carolee Schneemann, Shaun Caton, Kurt Kren, Zoviet France, The Hafler Trio, O Yuki Conjugate, John Watermann, Asmus Tietchens, Nicolas Collins, Left Hand Right Hand, Victor Lois, Serge Segay, and many more. We attempt to give a fresh view into the wide array of new independent and contemporary work happening today. Words about N D: "N D is the premier avant-garde music and arts magazine. Reviews, interviews and a good chunk of resources for independent media." - Factsheet Five "Highly creative, professional and recommended." - Organ (UK) "N D is so cool that just opening its cover will catapult you to unknown realms of hipness." - Ben Is Dead "More obscure performance artists and experimental noise merchants than you could shake an anvil at." - Alternative Press The magazine is distributed world-wide. Each issue has over 70 pages of interviews, hundreds of audio and publication reviews, radio listings, mailart projects, and arts information.
